Coming up next:  a greeting card created by artist Kathy Chang. Kathy used my 6" x6" Garden at Nemours Mask s658Once upon a time, it was easy to find blank greeting cards and envelopes that fell neatly within the 6" x 6" range -- measurements that made a perfect fit for prints made with my 6" x 6" masks and envelopes.  Back then, I had no idea that this size of card and envelope would creep out of vogue.  But creep it did!  A variety of sizes still exists.  Perhaps the best fit for prints made using 6" x 6" masks and stencils are the blank cards, with envelopes, that measure roughly 5" x 7".  I'm guessing that this is the size Kathy Chang chose when she made the gorgeous print on her greeting card, shown below....

Every once in a while I have a love affair with black-and-white abstract imagery.   Usually I highlight it with a pinch of red, or metallic gold or metallic silver. The next photo, below, shows a greeting card -- of the 5" x 7" size! -- that features a small black-and-white 2-piece collage.  The bottom piece (mostly white) was cut from a print that I made using 9" x 12" Blooming Where Planted L449. The top piece (mostly black) was made using a cut-0ut from a print made with 9" x 12" Fantasia L450.   Across that small top print is a (faint) ghost print of white, made using Blooming Where Planted L449 Creating a ghost print (aka a reverse print) is basically the same as if you were inking a rubber stamp, then pressing it wet-side down onto a receiving surface.  Ergo, a mask or stencil briefly works as a rubber stamp that's thin but sturdy and flexible!
