More GARDEN MONTAGE Art Samples...

Above:  This print was made on an old picture calendar page.

So begins another of my daily posts following the release of my newest 9" x 12" stencil, Garden Montage....

GARDEN MONTAGE Art Samples, Continued ...

Today's greeting card was, like others recently shown here, created with a print made with my new 9" x 12" stencil, Garden Montage.

But this time, the wooden heart embellishment was made simply by pushing the unfinished heart down onto a disposable foam plate that I'd been using to mix paint.  It was a quick, easy way to avoid wasting leftover paint!

More prints made with Garden Montage --

Above:  This print was made atop an earlier print that had been created with my 9" x 12" stencil Nosegay.

More Prints Made with 9" x 12" New Stencil GARDEN MONTAGE

I started this series announcing the release of Garden Montage by showing a few of its prints made on assorted background papers.

Today I'll post more of those papers --

Above:  The background paper was a sheet of scrapbook paper pre-printed with butterflies.

Above:  The background paper was an old paper once printed using my 9" x 12" stencil Buds.  That print's dark green (nearly black) lines and shapes are still somewhat visible.

Above:  A simple collage created with two Garden Montage prints.

Above:  The background paper was a sheet of French newspaper; this paper had been printed, earlier, using my 6" x 6" stencil Pavilion Shadows.  Its slanting lines remain somewhat visible.

Above:  The background paper was an old paper previously printed with my Prayer Flags 9" x 12" stencil.   That print's purple lines and shapes remain visible thru the translucent green paint used with Garden Montage .

GARDEN MONTAGE Stencil Used on Stretched Canvases

Garden Montage, my newest 9" x 12" stencil, has landed into my hands as I've worked on several 9" x 12" stretched canvases.

Above:  this artwork was created with Garden Montage teamed with inks and high-flow acrylic paints.

Above:  this artwork is collage and acrylic:  Its background was created with Garden Montage and its foreground is part of the stencil itself, stained with acrylic paints and inks.

The next two, below, are the same canvas; its white background was made with Garden Montage (9" x 12") stencil and the purple foreground was made with Queen Anne's Lace (9" x 12") stencil.

Next, I painted over the purple print with a layer of zinc white acrylic --which, being translucent -- allowed the combined background layers to remain faintly visible.  After the white layer of paint dried, I again used Queen Anne's Lace , this time with acrylic paint (shown below.)

Today's final photo shows a canvas that was created in somewhat similar ways to two canvases shown above.

This time, the background was created with Garden Montage stencil; then, after it had been coated with a layer of zinc white acrylic paint, I collaged onto the surface the stencil itself -- after it's been stained with acrylic inks and high-flow acrylic paints ....

GARDEN MONTAGE (9" x 12") Stencil Co-Stars with FANTASIA (9' x 12") Stencil & SPRIGS (6" x 6") Stencils

Today's post brings more greeting cards made with collages I've created using prints from my newest 9" x 12" stencil, Garden Montage --

Although today's art samples happen to be greeting cards, they can also work for covers of art journals, scrapbook pages, gift-tags, bookmarks -- and lots more that you'll think of, on your own!

The 3 art samples above were made -- for the most part -- using prints created with Garden Montage; but here and there, I also used a blue-and-white print made with Sprigs (6" x 6") stencil and Fantasia (9" x 12") stencil.

On the greeting card below, I went back to using only prints made with
Garden Montage.  This includes the stencil-printed paper that decorates the wooden heart embellishment --

In its entirety, Sprigs (6" x 6") stencil looks like this --

Fantasia (9" x 12") stencil looks like this, in its entirety --

Many thanks for visiting here today!

More art created with Garden Montage (9" x 12") stencil will appear on this blog tomorrow!

Greeting Cards Embellished with Stencil-Printed Papers -- featuring 9" x 12" New Stencil GARDEN MONTAGE

Above is the first in a series of greeting card covers decorated with collage using cut-up prints I'd made with my just-released 9" x 12" stencil Garden Montage.

These wooden heart embellishments were likewise decorated with papers cut from these prints.

More appear below ...

More art samples created with my just-released stencil Garden Montage will be posted here tomorrow!

Meanwhile, below are two nearly-full-size printed papers of the kind that I've cut into pieces while assembling my collages.

This 'n' That

Collected in my files are a few photos of art made with stencils not highlighted here in a while ...

First in line, below, is a greeting card cover created with my 6" x 6" stencil Pressed Leaves.  I used molding paste, spreading it thru the stencil openings with a credit card.  After the paste had dried, I used a sponge brayer to add a light coating of white paint across both the raised figure and its background.  (I clean stencils immediately after using molding paste or any other thick, three-dimensional medium.)

Second in line is a collage on stretched canvas made with several 6" x 6" stencils (better seen when you click on the image below to enlarge it)--

Upper left (green and blue background):  Ski Lift Works

Upper right (green and blue background):  Ornamental Iron Curls

Lower left (green and blue background):  Pavilion Shadows

Lower right (green and blue background):  Swatton Grid Stencil

Aqua and orange-red collage papers:   Swatton Grid Stencil and Ornamental Iron Curls.

Last in line is a greeting card cover with three collaged pieces.  The top piece was made with my 6" x 6" stencil Cats as well as another 6" x 6" stencil of mine, Tiger Lily.

THISTLES Stencil Used in a Craft Project in MARTHA STEWART LIVING MAGAZINE

Mary Beth Shaw has just alerted me to the fact that Martha Stewart Living Magazine has published a craft article that includes a photo of a throw pillow decorated with my 9" x 12" stencil Thistle.

I'm pretty sure that other StencilGirl stencils were used, too, but I won't know for sure till I get a copy of the magazine to check it out completely.

These two photos were taken by Mary Beth, the first showing the cover of what is probably the July issue; below that, the muted pink throw pillow.

You can click on this photo to enlarge it.

The Thistle stencil (9" x 12") looks like this --

And it has a "little sister" stencil, measuring 6" x 6" -- Small Thistles, which looks like this --

Collage & Acrylic with 4 6" x 6" Stencils

Today's post features a collage-and-acrylic artwork on stretched canvas --

The outer-area's cool colors were created with Golden High Flow Acrylics, following a technique demonstrated by Pat Dews in her DVD Designing Great Starts with Texture and Form (available at Cheap Joe's Art Supplies.)

The inner area is collage.  The papers I used were prints made with two of the same stencils that had been used on the outer edges -- Ornamental Iron Curls and Swatton Grid Stencil (both 6" x 6".)

Also used on the outer edges were two other 6" x 6" stencils -- Ski Lift Works and Pavilion Shadows.

These stencils in their entirety look like this --

Swatton Grid Stencil

Ornamental Iron Curls

Pavilion Shadows

Ski Lift Works
